Our Vision

The biggest problem in computer security today is that most systems aren’t constructed with security in mind. Reactive network technologies such as firewalls can help alleviate obvious script attacks on servers, but they do nothing to address the real security problem: bad software.  The time has come to build security into our nation's software systems and eliminate security weaknesses in the software architecture.

Compliance with a software coding standard is an important and often unavoidable process in safety-, mission-, security- and business-critical markets.  These standards were designed to address deficiencies in programming languages, such as: C, C++, and Java, while simultaneously ensuring the production of high quality code that is maintainable, clear, consistent, and testable. Producing code that is compliant with a coding standard is a very costly and time-consuming process, particularly in safety-critical industries such as aerospace, automotive, and health-care, where this process is strictly enforced by a government regulatory agency. At ASSRC, we want to  introduce automation to significantly reduce the time and effort involved in coding standards compliance and enhance the quality of computer source code across all industries.
